LiMBS is a study acronym I thought of while trying to find meaning in the Bible.
LITERAL - What is the meaning of the passage in its literal written form.
METAPHORICAL - What is the Higher Meaning of the passage. How does it relate to the thematic arch God is trying to get you to see.
BLIND - Are you unable to understand or internalize the concept.
SPIRITUAL - How does the meaning of the passage come through if you look at it purely on the Spiritual level vs looking at how it affects your physical body or the physical world around you.
Take a piece of paper (or a word document) and write in the Book, Chapter, and Verses
Write out the passage
Give yourself a few lines between each
Write out the Li, M, B, S as its own section
What does the passage mean to you when viewing from each of these angles?
Now, even if you were Blind, you can go back and revisit the passage later on and see if your views have changed as you start to see the message of the Bible unfold.
